Indie-folk artist Aly Aleigha from Duluth, MN brings an invigorating new element to her upcoming record (album release date TBA). Solstice is her 3rd lead single, following the releases of Gallicantu (Apr 5, 2020) and Auburn Skies (Nov 20, 2020).
Both of Aly Aleigha’s former lead singles enchanted listeners with gentle instrumentation, evoking deep emotion and hinting at something grandiose to come with the anticipated record. Her lyrics never fail to provoke listeners to the depths of their souls, and Solstice is no exception; yet it takes listeners by surprise right away with a refreshing, energetic beat that one cannot help but move along to.

THE RECORDING PROCESS
As with both of her previous lead singles, Solstice was engineered by Andrew Christopoulos of Chicago, IL, but this was the first project in which the entire song—from demo to distribution—was recorded virtually (a situation inspired by covid restrictions). Aly Aleigha expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be stretched as an artist; to hone her craft by building a home studio in which she composed instrumentation with midi & recorded studio-quality vocals; and for technology that made virtual recording sessions with the studio drummer, cellist & guitarist possible.
